Jorgito's First Running Race

Jorgito ran in his first race on Saturday at Pioneers Park

The starting line

Unfortunately the race started with a gun shot and 50 screaming kids running away so Jorgito got a bit shy and clung to Papa

About 50 meters into the race Jorgito decided he wants to walk/run

He finished his 100 meters hand in hand with Mama and Papa...last place :)

and got a "participant" ribbon

Not 3 minutes after finishing the race clinging to us, he took off on his own RUNNING

and running

and running!
Jorge and my dad were warming up for their upcoming 5k and 10k.
Jorgito didn't stop running the whole time

Jorge running his 10k... He got 2nd place :)

Milford Lake Kansas

My parents took my brother Tyler, his girlfriend Jamie and us to Milford Lake for the weekend. Saturday was my mom's birthday and Sunday was father's day.
We stayed in this lodge overlooking the lake

My dad pulled us in a tube behind his boat

Having fun is exhausting

My little water bug

We rented a pontoon boat on my mom's birthday

Chilean World Cup

Most Americans don't really "get" how big the World Cup really is, but if you can imagine if the Superbowl only occurred once every 4 years...and then add teams from all over the world and then multiply that by like 100...that's how big of a deal it is everywhere else in the world.
#1 fans: The Jorges

Close up of Jorgito's jersey.
You have to qualify to participate in the world cup. This is the first time in 12 years that Chile has played in a world cup game. AND this morning was the first win EVER in Chile's history that the team won a single game!!!! Chileans are going crazy :)

Roses and Berries

This is a My2Jorges blog first, but there will be no photos of either of my 2 Jorges in this post. Either their eyes were closed or the flash wasn't right so this post will be dedicated to my great grandparents Alvin and Inez Reed who built the house than we live in.... also I though my #1 blog fan grandma Doris Knerr would appreciate seeing this blog as she is their daughter and lived in this house as well.
I remember visiting my great grandparents when I was little girl and going to the south side of this house to smell the amazingly fragrant roses. Most of the rose bushes have been replaced and don't smell like grandmas used to but I often think of her while watering these roses.

Almost Ripe
These black berries grow wild in the tree line, they usually ripen around father's day. My great grandfather planted and made liqueur from them. He stored the bottles in the tornado cellar in the basement the house.

Strawberry Patch

Jorgito and I took a short trip outside Lincoln to Roca, NE to pick strawberries at Roca Berry Farm
Jorgito wanted to make sure the strawberry made the photo

Also in attendance my BFF Amanda and her 4 kiddos

As you can see Jorgito got into the spirit of picking AND eating. He also was tired of these plain white tees and decided to make his tye-dyed.

So many strawberries...so little time

This photo captures the naughtiness that is my son in his 15 months of glory!!! Do you see that strawberry in mid air flying out of his right hand? That's what he thought of me sitting him down for a photo. He grabbed a fist full and let them fly :)

Kansas Iron Man

The first weekend in June was dedicated to Jorge's half Iron Man in Lawrence Kansas.
Here is our group of friends from Omaha. All the boys (except one) participated in the Iron Man race. The rest of us had a great day cheering them on!

Shade trees were few and far between but luckily we found a nice patch here to set up camp.

T1 (First transition area)
This is where the racers entered and exited the swim portion of the race, got on their bikes and zoomed off to the 56 mile ride

Go Jorge...only 55 more miles to bike

Here is Jorge about half way through his 13.1 mile run

Jorgito and Isabella
We had lots of "down time" between cheering for racers so much of the day was spent just hanging out and giving foot massages.

It was hot and humid.
Cheering is hard work so it was important to stay hydrated!
Yes Jorgito was sporting his triathlon outfit.

GOOD JOB JORGE!!!!
We are so proud of you!!!!
