So Fresh and So Clean

We have been doing a lot of cleaning around here lately! On Friday night we discovered MOLD in our basement storage room from the excess of melting snow/rain water seeping in. Unfortunately we also have a lot of cardboard and wood down there for mold to live on, so we are basically throwing everything away and scrubbing down the whole room with bleach.

J.R. the dog is staying with us this weekend as my parents went a long weekend away. In a few short hours I rediscovered why J.R. went to live with my parents after Jorgito was born...Unfortunately (for me not J.R.) the squirrels that J.R. drove away when he lived here have repopulated the yard and not 5 minutes after Jorgito was into his nap the barking began!!! The word obsessed does not begin to describe J.R. :) On the other hand Jorgito absolutely loves J.R. and spends all day following him around the house and the two of them gang up on me with their sad puppy eyes for me to take them outside and play.

Weekend Getaway!

After my health scare a couple weeks ago Jorge was all about living in the moment and living each day to the fullest. He was all about taking Jorgito and I on a vacation, however March in the Midwest isn't the most "Holiday-like" so instead of draining our savings account and jumping on a jet somewhere south I talked him down to a "tropical" weekend getaway to Omaha! Yes you read that right...Omaha, NE :)

Happy Birthday GREAT GREAT Uncle Lewie

We helped Jorgito's GREAT GREAT Uncle Lewie celebrate his 86th birthday on Sunday evening. Jorgito enjoyed it most when we sang happy birthday. (First photo)

The birthday party was a relaxing evening to a week which was anything BUT!

Last Sunday evening was spent in the E.R. ~ Jorgito was diagnosed with double pneumonia

Monday: Figuring out Jorgito's medicine schedule and breathing treatments

Tuesday: I had a CT Scan which was NEGATIVE :) Unfortunately a had a false positive chest x-ray which needed further testing. Due to my history with melanoma they didn't want to take any chances. Another unfortunate....at the CT Scan they gave me an IV full of toxic crap so they could see my lungs in the photos better and I had to stop nursing for 12 hours afterwards which went over about as well as a fart in church! Jorgito screamed for 2 hours straight. Luckily my scan was early in the am and by bed time we were back to normal.

Wednesday: I woke up at 2am vomiting. I had eaten some old chicken from our fridge and spent the whole day curled up in a ball....THANK GOD for my mother who took Jorgito for the day!

Thursday and Friday were spent trying to catch up at work

Saturday morning we woke up to the news about the 8.8 Chilean earthquake. The rest of the weekend was spent trying to contact Jorge's family and friends in Chile. We still haven't heard from his sister but the rest of his family are alive and well....but their houses are not :(
